Determined not to recognize our failure,
frustrated by not achieving what we consider success,
we persist and insist again and again
on achieving happiness
wherever our own wisdom leads us…
Confident in our great intelligence…
self-sufficient to direct our steps and our destiny
we walk along our wide paths
on the way to self-extermination and self-destruction,
dominated by the idol of comfort that invaded us,
the excessive ambitions and the crazy race
after power, acceptance, fame, immortality…
In the melancholy of the undeniable failure,
we should stop, step on the ground and meditate…
What was the path we traveled to get here?
What did we do that we shouldn’t have done?
What did we not do that we should have done?
What have we become?
Discreetly headed to a secular society
Christians by name… we went a little further
and let our next generation
approach the precipice of destruction
and drown in an ocean of evil,
with no warnings or signs… nor pleas…
just because we didn’t want to be considered fanatics or crazy…
We abandoned our responsibility and authority as parents
over the mind and body of our children
and handed it over to the educational system and the media,
and here are the results,
a humanity with a lost identity, with no direction nor hope
To raise good men and women was our task,
that they would know that the Almighty God revealed Himself in Jesus Christ,
to teach them not our wisdom, but that of God,
they were not the only ones to blame,
it was us who allowed today’s maddened world to happen,
we were the insipid salt that did not contain evil…
that impossible task for any generation,
as it was for the disciples of Christ in the first century of this era
who, however, turned the world upside down,
and so many others who were raised up by God…
The Herods and the Pilates have multiplied,
and the people continue to honor with their lips with a heart far from God,
and the mob continues to shout Crucify him! crucify him! crucify him!
Jesus was born, lived, preached his kingdom, died and rose again,
the work of redemption is accomplished,
our only hope is to be rescued,
uprooted from cowardice and foolishness,
may we be granted repentance
and turn to God
truly…
now…
