In the age of foolishness
in which the pursuit of happiness
turned into the search for comfort,
We wander between one whim and another,
inventing absurd unrealities…
We were born in this era, the Christian era
but we discard this inheritance
and we consider ourselves better than God
we love nature and annihilate man
in summary…
we eat the pigs’ carob pods…
Unconditional love…
nothing could be further from our ideal,
God himself being born from a human womb
like Mary’s and in a manger…
We would not allow such an event today…
we would get ahead of Herod to avoid it…
God knew we would be like this…
alienated from reality,
sailing in the turbulent waters
of absurdity and indefinition,
in the midst of idolatry and hypocrisy…
pretending that reality
fits our imagination…
And in this dark story
The light shone, and Jesus took human form…
Being born in a manger
voluntarily stripped of his glory
experiencing pain and sorrow,
the daily effort,
tiredness and sleep,
and suffering human iniquity up close
giving his life on the cross…
God intervened in the entire history of that time
still intervenes in today’s history
and will remain forever
our only hope for salvation…
