And we are here and now
in the globalized Babel of the 21st century,
amidst the voices that confuse,
in a desperate search
of happiness that cannot be reached,
captured by the information that misinforms…
False prophets, here and there, everywhere
In the century of the dark lights of technology…
In the time of Augustus Caesar,
Cyrenius being governor of Syria,
a light shone in Bethlehem,
the true one in the midst of human darkness…
We didn’t recognize her then…
nor do we want to recognize it now.
We need to be saved
It is undeniable, the loss is undeniable
in the abyss of unreality,
and heading towards self-destruction
on the brink of the consummation of history
Who will save us?
Jesus!
the Jesus of history,
the true one, the one of the written word,
the fulfillment of prophecies
the one who was born in a manger
the one who came to reconcile us with the Father,
the one who won on the cross,
the one who rose on the third day,
the true light that illuminates in the dark…
“Long ago,
at many times and in many ways,
God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
but in these last days
he has spoken to us by his Son,
whom he appointed the heir of all things,
through whom also he created the world…” Heb. 1:1-2
